Foi professor titular da ETSA da Universidade de Sevilha, onde atualmente continua a exercer fun\u00e7\u00f5es como investigador honor\u00e1rio, e leciona tamb\u00e9m no Mestrado em Patrim\u00f3nio Cultural da Universidade de Huelva.<\/p>\n<p>Especialista em hist\u00f3ria da arquitetura industrial, patrim\u00f3nio cultural e sistemas de interpreta\u00e7\u00e3o, desenvolveu uma s\u00f3lida trajet\u00f3ria investigativa e acad\u00e9mica. Coordenou projetos de I+D+i do Plano Nacional e participou em iniciativas internacionais como o programa INTERREG B-TEAM. Possui dois sex\u00e9nios de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, orientou dez teses de doutoramento na \u00faltima d\u00e9cada e ultrapassa as 520 cita\u00e7\u00f5es, situando-se entre os autores mais produtivos e citados no \u00e2mbito do patrim\u00f3nio industrial em Espanha.<\/p>\n<p>Entre as suas publica\u00e7\u00f5es destacam-se obras de refer\u00eancia como Arquitectura industrial em Espanha (1830-1990), Arquitectura da ind\u00fastria na Andaluzia e Luces sobre a mem\u00f3ria. A Real F\u00e1brica de Artilharia de Sevilha. Nos \u00faltimos anos, coordenou An\u00e1lise dos Invent\u00e1rios do patrim\u00f3nio industrial. Um modelo de registo para a Andaluzia e editou O nosso Norte \u00e9 o Sul: Re_Vis\u00f5es patrimoniais. Al\u00e9m disso, publicou numerosos cap\u00edtulos e artigos sobre patrim\u00f3nio ferrovi\u00e1rio, \u00abcompany towns\u00bb e paisagens da produ\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>A sua experi\u00eancia abrange tamb\u00e9m a museografia e a valoriza\u00e7\u00e3o do patrim\u00f3nio, com projetos como o Ecomuseu da Serra Norte de Sevilha e a Esta\u00e7\u00e3o de Filtragem de La Algaba. Atualmente, presta consultoria em interven\u00e7\u00f5es na F\u00e1brica de Vidro La Trinidad e na Esta\u00e7\u00e3o de Bombeamento de Adufe Bajo. \u00c9 promotor do Mapa Colaborativo do Patrim\u00f3nio Industrial da Am\u00e9rica Latina e das Cara\u00edbas (MapaPI) do TICCIH, membro do TICCIH-Espanha, presidente da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Fabricando el Sur e membro de v\u00e1rios comit\u00e9s editoriais.
