Ana Filipa Fonseca

Ana Filipa Fonseca is a PhD student in Language Sciences at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, a researcher at the Centre of Linguistics of the University of Porto (CLUP) and the Linguistics Research Centre of NOVA University Lisbon (CLUNL), developing her PhD investigation in media discourse with a grant awarded by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation. Her research interests lie in text linguistics and semantics, focusing on science communication discourse and explanation. She is also a member of GICIL (Group of Researchers in Language Sciences), an association of CLUP.

Ana Sofia Ferreira

Sofia Ferreira holds a degree in Portuguese Studies from the University of Porto and a Master’s degree in Linguistics from the same institution since 2019. Her Master’s dissertation has won the APAV Research Award in 2020. In 2021, she started her PhD in Language Sciences at the University of Porto, in the field of Forensic Linguistics. Also in 2021, she started working as an invited Assistant Professor at the Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Politécnico e Universitário (CESPU), teaching Introduction to Forensic Linguistics.

Ana Sofia Meneses da Silva

Ana Sofia has a degree in Applied Languages from the University of Minho and a master’s degree in Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PFL) from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP). After completing a traineeship at the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and finishing her master’s degree, she taught PFL at FLUP and in other institutions. Currently, she is a PhD candidate in Language Sciences at FLUP and, simultaneously, is taking a Specialisation Course in Forensic Linguistics at the same institution. Her research focuses on the analysis of emergency calls based on methods of Forensic Linguistics, Pragmatics and Discourse Analysis. Recently, she has been awarded a PhD grant from FCT (Ref. 2023.00589.BD). She is also an editorial assistant for the journal Language and Law / Linguagem e Direito.

Ana Sofia Pinto

Ana Sofia Freixo Pinto is a PhD student in Language Sciences – Linguistics at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP) with a grant from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), under the protocol between the FCT and the Linguistics Center of the University of Porto (CLUP). She has a degree in Language Sciences and a master’s degree in Linguistics from FLUP. For her master’s degree, she presented a dissertation on Paraphrastic reformulation markers in the scientific article genre. Her main area of interest is Text Linguistics, in which she has researched topics such as reformulation, discourse markers, and academic discourse. She is currently an editor at ElingUP – Students’ e-journal of Linguistics from University of Porto. She is a member of the Portuguese Linguistics Association.

Enio Soares

Student on the 3rd Cycle of Studies in Language Sciences at the UPorto’s Faculty of Arts (FLUP), Linguistics field; Master of Science from the Graduate Program in Education at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters of Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo University (FFCLRP-USP) (2015); specialist in Ethics, Values, and Citizenship in Schools from USP/Univesp (2013); Bachelor of Arts in Languages from Centro Universitário Moura Lacerda (2010). Teacher of Grammar, Literature, and Composition/Textual Production with experience in both, public and private, education systems; member of the Group of Researchers in Language Sciences (GICIL); collaborating researcher of the Group of Studies and Research on Literacy, Reading, and Writing (Gepalle-USP). Has been studying, from the discourse analysis perspective, the political discourse of electoral campaigns on social media. Research fellow of CLUP (Ref. UI/BD/153393/2022).

Rute Alexandra Félix Rebouças

Rute Rebouças is a PhD student in Language Sciences, Linguistics variant, at Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP) and a PhD research fellow within the scope of the protocol between Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) and the Center of Linguistics at the University of Porto (CLUP) (UI/BD/150976/2021). Rute Rebouças has a Master in Linguistics (2019) and a Degree in Language Sciences (2017) at FLUP. She is editor-in-chief of elingUP Journal and co-editor of the book À Conversa com Linguistas and of three offprints: À Conversa com a Professora Doutora Maria da Graça PintoÀ Conversa com a Professora Doutora Ana Maria Brito and À Conversa com a Professora Doutora Fátima Oliveira. Her research is in Semantics, with a particular focus on the study of the verb ficar in European Portuguese and in the fields of Tense, Aspect, Modality and Evidentiality. Her PhD research focuses on the analysis of future tense in European Portuguese. Rute has also a special interest in Portuguese Sign Language and in Text Linguistics.

Victoria Isrigova

Violeta Magalhães

Bachelor in Language Sciences and Master in Linguistics (Psycholinguistics) from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto. Currently PhD Student (3rd Cycle of Studies in Language Sciences, FLUP). She has published in specialized journals and participated in national meetings and conferences with contributions in the field of Linguistics. Her main area of interest is Psycholinguistics. Viviane Maia Costa

PhD student in Language Sciences at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of University of Porto (FLUP), with a scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). She holds a Master’s degree in Language Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Portuguese, English and related Literatures from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). She has worked in project management at PUC-Rio for 12 years. Her main research interests are Forensic Linguistics and Discourse Analysis.
